Minister of Commerce: Holding intensive meetings with the export councils to develop a unified vision for export development

Engineer Ahmed Samir, Minister of Trade and Industry, announced that, starting next week, a series of intensive meetings will be held with the heads and officials of the export councils, including representatives of each 5 councils separately, with the aim of reviewing the visions and action plans of the councils aimed at increasing Egyptian exports and benefiting from Egypt’s great economic potentials and potentials. Within the framework of the current trends of the Egyptian state to increase exports to 100 billion dollars annually.He pointed out that these meetings aim to reach a unified vision for the ministry and the export councils to be presented during the activities of the economic conference, which was directed by President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi.This came during the minister’s extensive meeting with the heads of export councils to discuss ways to support exporters during the current stage and promote exports to meet the objectives of the Egyptian state.The meeting was attended by Ibrahim Al-Sigini, Assistant Minister for Economic Affairs, Minister Plenipotentiary of Trade Yahya Al-Wathiq Billah, Head of Commercial Representation, and Dr. Amani Al-Wasal, CEO of the Export Development Fund.The minister said that the export file comes at the top of the priorities of the work plan of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry during the current stage, as the ministry aims to attract more global investments, localize the industry, increase productivity rates, and then increase exports, noting that exports were able despite the challenges currently facing various countries of the world in Achieving positive indicators during the past year as well as during the first 8 months of this year. Samir explained that the ministry aims to continue increasing the rates of exports annually to achieve the goals of the state’s plan to advance Egyptian exports. many markets.He noted the ministry’s keenness to provide the industrial sectors’ needs in terms of production inputs in order to keep the production wheel running. Concerned agencies to deal immediately with such challenges.The heads and officials of the export councils presented a number of proposals and demands that would contribute to giving an impetus to the industry and export sector during the next phase, which included activating the export support system, in addition to facilitating investment procedures to attract international companies to enter the Egyptian market, providing new financing mechanisms, and activating the role of Egyptian commercial offices abroad. Increasing orientation to the African market as a promising market for Egyptian exports, in addition to deepening local manufacturing, developing feeding industries, facilitating procedures for issuing industrial licenses, speeding up the integration of informal industrial establishments into the formal economy system, providing qualified and trained technical workers, and the need to reconsider the prices of basic services for industrial establishments.
