The Central Bank: Domestic liquidity rises by nearly a trillion pounds within 8 months

The local liquidity in the banking sector rose to 6.808 trillion pounds at the end of August 2022, compared to 5.822 trillion pounds at the end of December 2021, an increase of 985.738 billion pounds.Central Bank reports revealed that the money supply recorded 1.613 trillion pounds at the end of August, compared to 1.382 trillion pounds at the end of December 2021.The cash in circulation outside the banking system amounted to 798.274 billion pounds, compared to 701.882 billion pounds at the end of December 2021.Demand deposits in local currency amounted to 814.964 billion pounds, compared to 680.464 billion pounds, while quasi-money recorded 5.195 trillion pounds.Time deposits in local currency recorded 4.313 trillion pounds, compared to 3.789 trillion pounds at the end of 2021.Demand deposits in foreign currencies amounted to 882.016 billion pounds, compared to 650.825 billion pounds at the end of December 2021.
